Boozman Opposes H.R. 1913
by Boozman Press Office
April 29th, 2009

Hundreds of constituents have called the Washington, D.C. office expressing their concern of the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009. Congressman Boozman opposed this legislation in the 110th Congress and he will vote against it again.

HR 1913 would grant local law enforcement greater technical and monetary support for investigating and prosecuting “hate crimes” that involve discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability.  The Congressman firmly believes that all crimes should be investigated thoroughly and equally, and that special rights and protections should not be granted to any person based on race, religion, gender or sexual orientation.
