Boozman: Oversight Needed for any Bailout Plan
by Boozman Press Office
September 22nd, 2008

Congressman Boozman’s office has received hundreds of calls and emails from constituents concerned with the Administration’s proposed $700 billion bailout plan. While no legislation has been formally introduced in the House of Representatives the Congressman agrees Washington needs to restore confidence in the financial sector, which includes overseeing the practices of lending institutions.

“We cannot make hasty decisions at this critical time and the American taxpayer must be our number one priority,” Boozman said.

Congressman Boozman says the legislation needs to focus on how to help taxpayers rather than subsidizing salaries to executives of companies who face financial trouble.

“Bad business practices cannot be rewarded,” Boozman said.
