I’m glad it failed. Granting amnesty (regardless of how you label it) to 12 million illegals will have the same effect that the amnesty of 1986 had on 3 million illegals. Namely, it will result in EVEN MORE illegals coming. The solution lies elsewhere.

    Agreed!

This type of racket could single handedly alter insurance rates if let to run loose or encouraged by amnesty.

Now to get the illegals out. After 1 killed a 12 year old child, after sexually molesting another several years ago, he should have been deported but wasn’t. Heads should roll and illegals need to go.

I just learned today of the Hope Fund Act of 2007, HR 1999, to give $5 million to La Raza in 2008 and $10 million each year thereafter. Where does the insanity end?!!!! Why is this even being considered to give federal money (Our tax dollars) to a special interest group and maybe a subversive one at that? I have been told, the main goal of La Raza is to annex the southwestern United States to Mexico! I hope the Congress will not even seriously consider such a bill. I am more and more disappointed in this administration and our entire Congress.
It has become very apparent who they truly represent (special interest groups, global corporations and themselves) and it is not US.
Only a handful of Congress (House and Senate) seem to truly represent the American people and the American citizens. We are supposed to be a Constitutional Republic. Thank you.

    From http://www.onenewsnow.com/2007/05/legislation_would_provide_mill.php:

They (La Raza) are involved in more than just advocating for the illegal alien. They are involved, as a central theme, returning the southwest to Mexico, or at best, making it a hispanic governed territory separate from the US. Passing a bill that would fund such an organization is tantamount to our elected “representatives” committing treason. But then, our “representatives” have shown lately they have no problem with pushing agendas that destroy the US, it’s sovereignty, and it’s Constitution. That, by definition, is also treason. It’s time we call such treachery by its name, and demand prosecution of such traitors.

I do not know why all governments are keen to help outsiders who pose a threat to the society and nation ( because of this reason, they might have immigrated illegally!) and neglect their own lawful citizens. Some politics, this.
