U.S. Representative John Boozman (AR-03) today along with U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and U.S. Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) announced $311,640 dollars in Rural Development grants for Pope, Conway, Johnson, Logan and Yell counties.
Rural Development funds are an important asset to the development of Arkansas’ rural communities. These funds will be provided to the Universal Housing Development Corporation to assist rural families in building homes.
“This grant money will go a long way to help families find their American Dream,” Boozman said. “The assistance offered through this and similar rural development projects are a step in the right direction to providing a valuable service to our rural communities.”
“Home ownership is a critical tool for strengthening rural communities, and I applaud Arkansas’s Universal Housing Development Corporation for seeking these federal funds to help those in need build a home for their families,” Lincoln said.
"These grants are a smart investment that will create more jobs and improve quality of life in central and northwest Arkansas," said Pryor. "Most importantly, they will provide countless Arkansas families with the opportunity to build affordable rural housing."
“These federal dollars are good news for Arkansas, especially in the current housing market,” said Congressman Snyder. “Assisting these families will support the vitality of our rural communities.”
