Boozman Welcomes Armed Forces Foundation
Military organization largely expands to assist Arkansas military community
Washington,
Jan 30, 2008 -
Today, U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) joined the Armed Forces Foundation (AFF) in announcing the official AFF chapter in the state of Arkansas. The Armed Forces Foundation, a well respected military organization located in Washington, D.C., assists veterans, active duty, reserve, retired, National Guard and military families with financial assistance, housing assistance, education, career counseling, and community projects such as the Fallen Heroes Living Memorial (in the garden area of the Fayetteville Veterans Home).
The AFF’s Arkansas chapter will allow the foundation to expand upon existing assistance programs to better serve military constituents throughout the region.
“I am proud to be affiliated with the Armed Forces Foundation, and strongly support its efforts to assist the men and women who serve in America’s military, their families, and our nation’s veterans,” Boozman said. “I have witnessed the AFF’s efforts with our Wounded Warriors at Walter Reed and Bethesda, and am proud to see the foundation move to help the military community in Arkansas.”
The AFF, which is dedicated to promoting the moral, welfare, and quality of life of the U.S armed forces community, provides its programs to the military community worldwide.
“We have a great opportunity to expand our programs to those of the Arkansas military community by bringing more members into the local chapter,” said Armed Forces Foundation President Patricia Driscoll. “We are thankful for Congressman Boozman’s dedicated effort in supporting our troops and our Foundation’s programs.”
